A self-described world traveler, Bahar loves to chase dreams in all corners of the globe. Whether she is hiking the mountains of New Zealand, discovering the Native American cliff dwellings of the American Southwest, shopping the food markets of Turkey, kayaking the waters of Andaman Sea in Thailand, or touring Chile’s wine regions, she lives to explore, learn, make friends, and share her experiences with fellow travelers.
She got the “travel bug” during a vacation with her family in Turkey’s Aegean Coast, where, the management noticed her interaction with the guests, offered her a job at the busy resort. The unexpected summer job, combined with her passion for travel, and hunger for learning about new cultures, led her to various positions in the travel industry from hotel operations to tour guide, and destination representative to sales. After receiving a Master of International Business degree from University of Maryland, she worked in various sales, and corporate management positions at Marriott International, and The Ritz-Carlton. In 2006 she left the corporate world to pursue her dream: travel and inspire others to realize their dreams.
When she’s not traveling or reading books and articles on travel, Bahar loves to stay active through tennis, biking, hiking, swimming, and taking care of dogs and cats in memory of her beloved dog Marco - who was named after Marco Polo. She also enjoys cooking foods that remind her of the world she’s seen; and sipping tea, which reminds her of the places she has yet to discover.
Bahar feels at home anywhere in the world, but currently most of her travel books, maps, and gear reside in Bethesda, Maryland ready to be packed for her next journey. |
